The Larry M. Blatt Biotechnology Internship Fund provides supplemental funding for life science majors in the College of Arts + Sciences at IU-Bloomington completing an internship at a life science company or institution. Students are eligible to receive funding as long as their internship is with a life science company or an employer that has a life science focus. The internship is not required to have a strict scientific focus. There are no geographic restrictions. Open to undergrad and masters students to help defray the cost of travel and housing during an internship.
Students are eligible to receive up to $3,000 for internships that are four weeks or more and up to $1,000 for shorter internships.
A committee will award funds to students who meet eligibility criteria through their bursar account. If you are selected, you will receive a confirmation from the committee within four weeks of your application. Applications are considered on a rolling basis. The deadline to apply for funding for 2017 is Monday, April 1.
Should you have questions at any time, please contact Dr. Cheng Kao, Director, Biotechnology Program at email@example.com, or Staci McFall, Associate Director, Employer Relations, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Life Science employers interested in hosting interns should contact Staci McFall, Associate Director, Employer Relations at email@example.com. The Walter Center for Career Achievement would be happy to help employers create an internship program. The Blatt Internship Fund may be particularly helpful to employers that have not traditionally hosted interns because of a lack of funding.
