Lynn Vogeltanz is the Interior Design Team Leader for Direct Supply Aptura, an interior design firm specializing in Senior Living facilities that is based in Milwaukee. Lynn recently took some time to share about Direct Supply Aptura’s culture and careers opportunities.
Q: Please share a few reasons why you chose to work for your organization. What appealed to you when you were doing your own job search?
L: Senior Living design is such a unique specialty. Working in the United States and Canada, we get the opportunity to make an impact on millions of seniors and their caretakers with the environments we create.
Our designers face new challenges regularly – every community has a unique culture, location and service offering. Today, destination spaces like salons, theater rooms, restaurants, bars and lounges are becoming increasingly popular as a way to create dynamic lifestyle communities. These places are no longer “old folk’s homes.”
Our designs combine hospitality, commercial and healthcare design together to make functional, beautiful and healthy buildings.
Q: Tell us about Aptura and what distinguishes your company’s culture from others?
L: Our firm is different from many others. We’re situated within a larger company where everyone is committed to positively impacting the lives of seniors.
Interns at our company are exposed to many different service levels, clients and partners. Our company offers several classes to grow their professional skills while developing their design talents.
Every intern is also paired with a dedicated mentor who helps with projects, includes interns at client presentations and teaches interns in depth about the role of a designer.
