When Indiana University shuttered its doors in March, Matthew Harrison found himself at home in Carmel, looking for new projects to keep him occupied. The 24-year-old hatched a plan: He would recreate a scaled version of Indiana, down to individual streets and buildings.
He used the video game “Cities: Skylines” to build his model. So far, he’s spent 112 hours on the project in the city-building simulation game.
“It has been quite the undertaking,” he said.
Harrison’s process starts on Google Maps, where he studies the layout of each city. Using that as a guide, he paves roads and places buildings.
