Taught by adjunct instructor Maria Heslin, this course explores the importance of public relations activities to nonprofit-related interests, organizations and causes and how to implement the most effective strategies and tactics possible. We will consider public relations broadly; discuss how it fits into the larger scope of marketing; engage in many of the skills the discipline requires; and look at the crucial role PR plays in organizational goals, development and success.

We also will examine the ways that different types of sectors from the arts, animal welfare, politics and parks to government, college athletics and social service agencies which use public relations to further their missions.
