Are you interested in picking up a Religious Studies major or minor? Do you want to learn more about the knowledge you’ll gain from coursework in the IU Department of Religious Studies and how this knowledge gives you an edge in the job market?
Liberal Arts Impact is a series of events that have connected thousands of Indiana University students directly with hundreds of College of Arts + Sciences alumni. This informal event allows you to hear from recent alumni of the IU Department of Religious Studies on how they’ve used their liberal arts education in starting and advancing their careers. These alumni work in a variety of industries and will share ways to strategically leverage the advantage a liberal arts degree has across career fields.
Alumni guests will include:
– Annie Brackemyre, Creative Copywriter, Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School
– Khalil Gharbieh, Director for Investment at Office of the U.S. Trade Representative
– Jonathan Lipnick, Head of Holy Land Studies Dept, eTeacher Group
– Raju Raval, MD, D. P Phil, Asst Prof at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center & James Cancer Hospital
Current faculty from the IU Department of Religious Studies will share how the skills and knowledge they’re teaching in the classroom relates directly to the ever-evolving world of work. They too will illuminate how obtaining liberal arts skills provides a leg up in an unpredictable future job market.
This is also a great, low-key event for networking with younger alumni that were in your shoes only a few years ago.
