The Student Conservation Association (SCA), America’s #1 conservation service organization seeks qualified applicants to lead, educate, and inspire high school students for the virtual crew program.
- Program Dates: July 5 – August 6, 2021
- Training Dates: June 21- June 25, 2021 (mandatory paid training, training will take place virtually)
As Crew Leader, you will be working with a co-lead to guide and inspire two teams of high school students through SCA’s virtual crew program. This will be SCA’s second year running a virtual program given the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. This program gives high school students a unique opportunity to develop their interest in the environmental world, meet new people, learn about potential career paths, and create their own advocacy project. This 5 week program follows a curriculum which focuses on a theme for each week. These themes are; teambuilding, environmental literacy, environmental justice, career exploration, and advocacy & action. Leaders will facilitate lessons and provide support to members as they progress through the program. Outside of direct program implementation leaders will be responsible for planning weekly sessions. Leaders will meet with each team, through Zoom, twice a week for a roughly three hour session per day. There is no in-person component to the program. All programming will take place virtually.
Compensation: $675 per week, including week of training.
