The Ken and Audrey Buckley Internship is open to a student either on the WTIU/WFIU News Team OR the RTVS/WTIU Television Production Unit. Please indicate on your application materials for which internship you are applying. If applying for the RTVS/WTIU Television Production Unit, you must also indicate which production unit you would like to intern. Options for the RTVS/WTIU Television Production Unit include:
- Journey Indiana magazine series.
- The Friday Zone children’s series.
- long form (ie. documentary or special program).
- Digital (ie. web-only).
- WTIU Promotions (of all series, programs).
Student applicants must:
*have a career interest in, or special knowledge around, media or journalism.
*meet a minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher.
*have previously completed three credits in journalism or media production, with heavy emphasis on having completed: MSCH-C 228 Intro to Production Techniques & Practice
*provide a written recommendation from one source.
Students will be approved for a one-semester internship, with the renewal for the second semester based on performance.
Students will work under the supervision of a WTIU Producer, working a minimum of 10 hours a week, and maximum of 20 hours per week, for 13 weeks across each academic semester.
Student internships will be paid hourly wage of $12/hour.
