Hooshir is Indiana University’s premiere all gender Jewish a cappella group. They were formed in 2006 for the purpose of performing at the White House’s Hannukah party. Comprised of passionate individuals from many different backgrounds, Hooshir comes together to perform Jewish liturgical and pop music, as well as secular repertoire for synagogues around the country. In 2019 Hooshir won the Kol HaOlam National Jewish A Cappella competition in Washington DC, for the third time in their history as a group. During the 2020-2021 school year, Hooshir worked diligently to record their third studio album.
