Goals (as listed in the Constitution):
1) To provide information when it comes to skills such as how to apply to graduate school, how to build a resume, how to network, etc.
2) To provide relevant volunteer experiences, job opportunity information, and shadowing information.
3) To provide and foster a supportive community of individuals pursuing common goals through various means.
The Occupational Therapy Club, sponsored by the Health Professions and Prelaw Center (hpplc.indiana.edu), provides pre-OT students, or those who are simply considering OT, provides many opportunities to engage in relevant experiences important to the profession. We occasionally will arrange and hold meetings with OT admissions representatives, guest speakers, students who have been admitted to OT programs, and others (or at least provide contact details/event information for such information.) The club provides members with the opportunity to network in regards to jobs, shadowing, and volunteer opportunities as well, as we feel it is important to share such information. We also occasionally arrange opportunities for members to simply socialize and get to know one another! (There is a small membership fee each of fall and spring semesters for all members, current and new.)
