Women in Business Technology

Women in Business Technology’s goal is to develop a community of peers seeking to major in technology focused studies, looking to gain skills to further their careers, or who have a general interest in learning more about technologies in business. WIBT seeks to foster a community for women in a traditionally male dominated industry to learn more about the technology field in business and network with one another.

The events that WIBT will host include professional and community focused events. The professional events include: job shadows, site visits, speaking panels, and networking events with professionals and for solely members. In future years, we hope to give back to the community through causes related to women and technology.

Women in Business Technology is specific to our student’s, alum, and Idie Kesner’s mission of supporting women and their endeavors in business.

———————————————————————————————————————————————–

WIBT is different from CEWiT and other women focused technology clubs because it is focused on technology applied in the business field. We have already spoken with CEWiT and they agree that we are too different in our career paths to merge. They are targeted towards women studying Computer Science or IT in the Informatics School. We hope to be included within the Kelley School of Business, and we are already sponsored by the Kelley Women’s Initiative. As an organization, past alum and companies that recruit at the Kelley School of Business have already reached out to us including Deloitte, Sales Force, Accenture, and many more to do speaking events and tours of their offices.
