The Crimson Closet makes professional dressing easy—and free. Borrow what you need, when you need it, so you can look sharp and feel confident, at no cost to you. Dressing professionally for interviews, career fairs, and other professional events will help you make a great first impression.

Explore the collection, find your favorite look, and try it on to make sure it’s a perfect fit.

Complete the checkout process and return your rental in 5 business days.

Before your visit, create your IUSG Portal account—your one-stop shop for all IUSG programs and initiatives. Visit the Crimson Closet dashboard to browse the inventory online and obtain your special key to present at checkout.

What's available

In the Crimson Closet, you'll find everything you need to help you look your best — crisp dress shirts, sleeveless tops, dress pants and skirts, sharp blazers and jackets, and finishing touches like ties and belts. Choose from timeless colors such as classic black, deep blues, and versatile neutral tones. With inclusive sizing options, everyone can find the perfect fit for their professional needs.

I acknowledge and understand the assigned clothing items are owned by Indiana University Crimson Closet and are being loaned to me for a limited time. I agree that I am responsible for the return of all assigned items associated with this rental form within 5 (five) business days of my rental start date. 

I attest that I will be the sole user of the assigned items. I understand that I am not to iron, launder, modify, or alter the assigned items. I understand the use of the assigned items must adhere to all expectations as outlined in Indiana University's Code of Student Rights, Responsibilities and Conduct. 

I confirm that the assigned items are in good and wearable condition at the time they are loaned to me. I agree to handle the assigned items with care and only use the assigned items for their intended purposes. I agree to assume all liability for the assigned items while they are in my possession. 

By checking out clothing, I agree that if any of the above assigned items are lost, damaged, altered, or not returned promptly, I may be charged up to $150 to my university Bursar account for the cost of repairing or replacing the items, which is based on the following expenses:

Before Your Visit
Create your IUSG Portal account and visit the Crimson Closet dashboard to obtain your special key. Save this key for your visit—you should do this before arriving for your visit.

Scheduling and Check-In
You may schedule a visit using Handshake, or drop-in. When you arrive, check in at the Walter Center Welcome Desk on the second floor of Ernie Pyle Hall.

During Your Visit
A staff member will check you in and assist you with browsing clothing. You may try on items in a private fitting room and borrow up to eight pieces per visit. Once you’ve selected your items, present your special key to the staff member.

At Checkout
Your selected clothing will be inspected and packaged in garment bags. You will receive a follow-up email with rental details. All items must be returned within five business days.

Terms of Service
By renting clothing, you agree to the Crimson Closet Terms of Service listed above. Please review them carefully, as you are financially responsible for any lost or damaged items.

You must return your outfit within 5 business days. When you're ready to make your return, visit the welcome desk at the Walter Center for Career Achievement, where a staff member will guide you through the process. Together, you’ll inspect each piece for cleanliness or damage and ensure nothing personal was left in the pockets. The staff will check your items back in and record their condition.
