These experiences are designed to complement your academic studies and equip you with skills highly valued by employers.

How it works

If you're unsure of your acceptance into your experience, that's okay! Please complete the scholarship application before the deadlines pass. For internships, an offer letter from the internship site is required to release funds; however, it can be emailed to ahowel@iu.edu after the application is submitted.

  • You must complete the experiential learning opportunity before your graduation date.
  • Spring/Summer/Fall experiences must take place during the respective term.
  • You must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program within the College of Arts and Sciences.
  • Students must complete an online application, which requires contact information for the applicant's Supervisor, Mentor, or Primary Contact
  • If you are pursuing an internship abroad, we recommend that you read these guidelines from the Office of Overseas Study.

  1. Students submit a completed scholarship application.
  2. Applications are reviewed by staff after scholarship deadlines have passed.
  3. Students are notified of approval or rejection. (For internships only: upon approval, a signed offer letter from the internship provider is required.)
  4. Funds are distributed through the student's bursar account.
  5. Approved students are contacted after completing their experience and asked to share their experiences.
