Deaconess Health is a growing healthcare system with hospitals in Evansville, Newburgh, and Princeton Indiana as well as Henderson and Union county Kentucky. They were ranked as the #2 health-system in Indiana. Deaconess just received the Forbes 2022-America’s Best Large Employers Award. They are the largest employer in the Tri-State area with almost 9,000 employees. Deaconess is a Level 2 Trauma Center, with 549 total patient beds. The system is home to the Deaconess Regional Laboratory which provides the testing services for these hospitals as well as outreach providers in the community. The laboratory offers chemistry, hematology, blood banking, microbiology, cytology, histology, and anatomic pathology services.

They are looking for Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) and Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) with certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent. These positions have strong backgrounds in biology, chemistry, and related sciences. MLS and MLT run the laboratory tests, monitor testing quality, support regulatory compliance, and maintain instrumentation. These certifications can be obtained after being hired if students don’t already have them.
