Completing an internship while pursuing a college degree can be challenging for many reasons. The IU Global Career Accelerator is a new way Indiana University Bloomington undergraduates can get course credit while gaining hands-on experience.
In this 6-credit, one-semester program, students will gain in-demand skills, collaborate with peers, network with industry leaders, and earn 6 IU course credits — all virtually! This work-based opportunity provides real-world experience with renowned companies such as Meta, Netflix, Zillow, Spotify, Nike, and Airbnb, all during the school year.
The program offers four unique tracks:
Digital Marketing
Learn to design and build an online store, create a portfolio of Google and Meta Ad campaigns, social media tactics, and more. Upon completion, receive Shopify Specialist, Ecommerce, and Digital Marketing Certifications for your LinkedIn profile.
Coding for Web
Learn HTML, CSS and Bootstrap frameworks, create mobile and desktop experiences, enhance your portfolio by building front end web apps with JavaScript, and more. Upon completion, receive HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Web Development certifications for your LinkedIn profile.
Data Analytics
Learn how to utilize Excel, analyze data from real-world case studies from companies like Netflix and Spotify, use Tableau, learn how to effectively showcase data sets, and more. Upon completion, receive Excel Specialist, Tableau Specialist, and Intercultural Skills badges for your LinkedIn profile.
Coding for Data
Write queries to sort, filter and group data, learn how to debug errors, SQL, and gain the technical skills needed to succeed in data driven career. Upon completion, receive Python Specialist, SQL Specialist, and Intercultural Skills badges for your LinkedIn profile.
No matter your major or career path, expertise in any of these four tracks can set you apart from other job or grad school applicants. It demonstrates a broad understanding of various industries and highlights you as a well-rounded candidate, giving you the competitive edge you need to pursue your future endeavors.
